I, like Apple, will always reserve my right to change my mind, in the end I might even get the decision right Now that I have found how to play the 24 bit files on my portable devices, I see little point in converting to another format. Through HD I came across Amarra Play and Luxe, found it mentioned on these forums and am evaluating it before buying, so far am impressed. Now news surfaced regarding Apple changing the way iTunes will be packaged, and being a cynic, figure that this change is unlikely to be for my benefit, more for Apple's, I figured I should look at alternative players. I used Fidelia on the Mac to play through our HiFi, but believed nothing could be done to play these files through the portable devices.įidelia is not an easy system to use, the interface seems cumbersome so I became a less frequent music listener. I hadn't considered how tied to one system / manufacturer we had become until I started collecting FLAC 24 bit music which iTunes won't play. My other half and I have been customers of Apple for a heck of a long time and unlikely to change, the hardware is pretty good, we have always used iTunes to play the music on and it seemed quite logical to use the same system across all devices.
